The game is the remake of the Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, released for the PlayStation Portable. The games also include some additional games such as a port of Castle: Symphony of the night and Akumaiyi Dracula Peke. Still, you can unlock it only if you meet the specific requirements within the game. There are nine stages, and at the end of each stage, there is a boss fight. There are a fixed number of lives, and if you lose them all, then you have to start from the beginning.

Gameplay

Peace and prosperity give rise to the wicked: those grow tired of peace and deny humanity. A group of these people gather and plot to destroy the world to build a new one. A century later, a dreadful creature was reborn unto the world. It can take the form of a bat, mist, a wolf, stalks the land by night, drains a young woman of their blood to fodder his immortality. Thus the lord of Castlevania, Count Dracula, came to live again. There are two playable characters: Richter and Maria. Richter wields a colourful whip and uses a surplus of sub-items like the axe, knife or cross. Maria Reynard, a young girl that throws doves at her enemies, and guides the protagonist through side-scrolling levels filled with bottomless pits, loads of monsters and surprise traps. These doves have the same effect as the whip, but they reach a more comprehensive range. Her sub-items include a cat, two red birds, a turtle, an egg, and a book that shoots music notes to slow down the enemy. Both characters have a collection of moves: they can jump, walk, release an attack directly ahead, and make use of several projectile sub-weapons. Richter's health is more than Maria. He walks slowly, and Maria is fast, but she lacks stamina. At the end of each stage, there's a boss battle based on a horror villain, like Dracula or werewolf.

  Through a particular route in level 1 and level 2, the player can unlock Maria, the second playable character, who moves faster. Maria is a young girl that Richter saves at the beginning of the game. After the player meets her, he/she can select her at any time from the select menu.
